The cocktail bar "The Porterhouse" in London is a well-known and popular pub in the heart of Covent Garden, known for its size, versatility, and vibrant atmosphere. It is part of the Irish Porterhouse chain, originally founded in Dublin in the mid-1990s before opening its London location in 2000. The drinks selection is a central part of the Porterhouse experience. With over 30 taps, the pub offers an impressive range of craft beers, including award-winning beers from the Porterhouse Brewery such as Plain Porter or Oyster Stout. The selection is complemented by a variety of bottled and canned beers as well as an extensive collection of Irish whiskey, gin, and cocktails. The cocktail menu is diverse and creative, featuring classics alongside modern interpretations, making the Porterhouse appealing to cocktail enthusiasts as well. Regular beer festivals, such as the annual German Beer Festival in October, and "Tap Takeovers" highlight the focus on high-quality beers and attract beer enthusiasts from around the world.

The menu includes dishes like Fish and Chips, burgers, and pizzas that are great for sharing. The atmosphere at the Porterhouse is multifaceted and adaptable. Thanks to its various levels and nooks, the pub offers intimate corners despite its size. It is known for its lively atmosphere, especially on weekends when live music fills the spaces. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, house bands perform in the Basement Bar, playing mostly rock and pop covers from the 1960s to today. These musical evenings are a big draw and create a festive atmosphere. The Porterhouse is also a paradise for sports fans, especially rugby enthusiasts. With 18 screens throughout the pub, all major sporting events are broadcast, including the Six Nations Championship and GAA games, emphasizing the house's Irish roots. It becomes a meeting point for fans, especially during major tournaments like the Lions Tour.

The versatility of the space – from the bustling main area to the cozy Dingle Whiskey Bar to the energetic Basement Bar – makes it a place suitable for different occasions.

The service is often described as friendly and efficient, with the staff doing a great job even during busy times. The welcoming atmosphere at the door is particularly highlighted, immediately making guests feel welcome. The Irish heritage of the pub is reflected not only in the whiskey selection but also in the warm hospitality that many visitors appreciate.
